Go for a Western Digital, Corsair, OCZ or Samsung HD.
But more importantly is the HD speed. Make sure you get a 7200RPM+ one.
If you're going to purchase this online, post the product here so we can verify it. |

When I collected info for updating my PC I read on all forums that WD Black Caviar is the best so I bought one.
Western Digital HDD 1TB 7200rpm 64MB Cache
Tho it's internal, I would still suggest WD. |

Lol why USB 3? You can't use that if your computer doesn't support USB 3.
But, out of that list, I'd either go for WD or Toshiba, with Seagate as the alternative.
Pick whichever has the most storage, looks good and has a good price.

'Pick whichever has the most storage, looks good and has a good price.' - Seagate... cheaper, most storage. WD and Toshiba makes only 1TB hdds. WD has one 2TB and more but it's huge.. won't take that big. so probably Seagate or HP. don't know yet. HP is more expensive, though.
and why USB 3.0- hmm. I know, my pc and laptop doesn't support 3.0, but it's good to have for future u know. PC will read this hdd but it will have speed of USB 2.0 ;p don't know yet... I'll figure something out ;p

Sure, np. It's just that the USB 2 variants are probably slightly cheaper.
Out of those two probably the HP.
Are you going to purchase this online or in a retail store? |

ye USB 2.0 is cheaper - that's right. it's also most likely that I will choose 2.0.
we'll see if I get HP - if so, then I will take HP.
um. I'm plannin to buy in UK. my uncle will buy and send me. cheaper there instead here in PL...

Both Toshiba and WD are great manufacturers. You can't go wrong with either. The reviews of both look good. Pick whichever you want, but don't forget that the Toshiba one only supports USB2. |

Ah. Both are excellent. Can't go wrong with either.
Personally, I'd pick the Toshiba one. A plus is that you get 2 years warranty against a year from WD. |
