I wouldn't go for 2GB... The most vram demanding game is Metro 2033 which @1920x1200 maxed settings (anti-alising and shit) takes up 1300MB... smaller screen, usual console ported games and 1GB is enough... |

While this is still true now, it's changing rapidly.
Textures and shadow maps are both used fairly often in nowadays' games.
If you wish to play games with the maximum texture quality later; 2GB would be a nice addition. But you should be fine for now with 1GB.
First of all, what's your budget?
Do you need HDMI or DVI ports for your screen? If so filter only those models.
Why did you pick these brands by the way? I'm sure there's more brands selling them.
Also, do you really want an NVIDIA, or are you fine with an AMD too?
Personally, I got a 6870 which is more than enough for everything I did.
And it's much cheaper than the NVIDIA. Or atleast, here it is.

AMD has abandoned that name a long time ago. They're known as AMD nowadays.
Also, the 6870 is slightly better, and cheaper than the GTX560. Benchmark.
300 euro's would get you a 6950/6970 or a GTX570.
Are you going to purchase from a webshop or a local store?
If it's a webshop, could you share the link so we can check? |

I have PCI-E MSI GTX550 Ti OC 1GB DDR5. It's as perfect for all the games as it should be. Dunno how much difference is there between 550 and 560 but you should search cards that have and support DVI not D-Sub. As far as I know D-Sub is much slower than DVI but that depends on your screen. |

Plain wrong. Should i explain ;P? The more AA the more RAM you need (and so on and on and on...).
I get f'd up CoD: Black Ops to use up 1800mb of my VRAM (and GTA IV without any tweaks uses more than 1,5GB because it's just crappy ported...)
But nevertheless 2GB are not worthy with just a gtx 560 or 550.
D-Sub = analog
DVI = digital
For LCD ALWAYS use DVI, because the gfx card can directly communicate with your monitor then. You have perfect scaling what you don't have with D-Sub.

Hi Trooper,
If your budget is 300 euro's. You should get this card. It's €263,- (if converted correctly) giving you 37 euro's for yourself.
Get this, if you do not wish to spend that much, you should get a GTX460 or a 6870(hint HINT!)

Never buy ATI if you like to have proper drivers delivered with your card
There are not so big differences anyways in the cards you listed. You will get like 1-3fps difference at most between the slowest and the fastest there.
Rather look after buying a gfxcard from a good company (all the ones you listed are okay - but i would go with zotac, gainward or gigabyte). |
